Tansi, Aniin. Hello My Name Is Nathan “Rikishi” Pelly. I Come From Cote Saulteaux Nation And Also Beardy’s And Okemasis Cree Nation. I Am 25 Years old and Started Singing When I Was A Young Boy. I Started Loving The Sound Of The Drum When My Late Grandmother Pauline Pelly Would Take Me To Attend Ceremonies. I Then Started To Attend Round Dances And Powwows. As A Young Singer First Starting Out No One Really Pays Attention To You. But I Started Asking Singers At Powwows If I Could Jump In With Them, Not Long After I Asked An Elderly Man If I Could Help Him Sing And He Nodded yes, I was So Happy This Old Mans Name Was Max Bear Lead Singer For Eagles Foot. I Then Went On To Sing With Another One of My Mentors Ross Paskemin Of The Sweetgrass Singers For A Couple Of Years, I Also Joined Up With Rock Hill Fly In Eagle, Cree Confederation And Young Bear, Wild Horse. I Would Like To Thank All The People Who Have Came Into My Life And Those Who have Gone From My Life. Singing Is What I Love. I Also Encourage You Young Singers To Keep It Up Learn The Ways Of Round Dance, Powwow, And Other Ceremonies. I Would Like To Dedicate This Recording To The Memory Of The Late Max Bear And Late Bertha Wuttunee. Without You I Would Not Be Here Today and Also My Late Grandmother Pauline Pelly,Late Uncle Lloyd Brass. My name is Brad Crain a proud Cree from Muskaday First Nation. I’ve Started Round Dance Singing with the veteran lead Singers in the winter of 1995. One of the things I was taught and learnt was to sing and share your gift of songs to heal out people threw the strengthof voice and drum. I would like to dedicate this CD to all the young and up coming Lead Singers and Song Makers out there today. My words of encouragement to you would be “Sing your own songs with pride and be proud of the gift of song making”
