  • 1/2cp finely ground islay nut. same ingredients for fry-bread, just add lyched ground islay
  • to the mixture except sustitude warm water for warm canned milk. Powdered suger olive
  • oil(for frying)
  • Directions:
    Gather isly fruit in sept-october, while berries are red. remove pulp from berry the lay berries in acardboard box outside until dry, approx 1 week. crack open shell and remove seed. you will notice the strong smell of cherries. grind them in a coffee griner until fine flour. leach all flour in hot water do this til water run clean. add this to your fry bread dough.

    Note: it only takes 1/2 cup of grounded islay to make a full batch of fry bread.fry like fry bread and when done sprinkle powder sugar over breads.should make 1 dozen breads. shape them like a pop tart. to find islay you must e-mail me for further info
