Dennis Hogan has a degree in economics and studio art and worked in advertising and then in financial planning after leaving college. He began by braiding leather bola ties and worked as an apprentice for three years to his good friend Charlie Favour. In 2000, he moved to Santa Fe and began selling and creating his own leather and jewelry designs. He continues to work as a full-time artist and strives to develop his skills each year by studying the old jewelry of the southwest. Dennis’ life has been an accumulation of experiences, influences and hard work.
Dennis considers himself lucky to be an artist and is most grateful to his friend Charlie Favour, his wife Lydia, and to his family who has always supported his artistic journey. He lives in Santa Fe, New Mexico with his wife Lydia and daughters Alyvia and Victoria. He enjoys photography, fly fishing in Colorado, and spending time with his family.
