Chuloonawick Corp

Chuloonawick Native Village lies at approximately 63° 04′ N Latitude, 164° 24′ W Longitude (Sec. 03, T032N, R078W, Seward Meridian). The community is located in the Bethel Recording District. The area encompasses 16 sq. miles of land and 4 sq. miles of water.

This is an historical Eskimo village, now abandoned, and was first reported in 1879 by the U.S. Coast & Geodetic Survey as “Kwikpakamiut.”


A maritime climate predominates in Emmonak. Temperatures range from -25 to 79. Precipitation is 19 inches per year, while snowfall is 50 to 60 inches per year. The growing season is 100 days long.
